Ramps

When choosing a ramp it is important to be sure that it will long enough to cover the change in height at an appropriate gradient.

For access to some vehicle this may be a compromise between ideal length and the length of ramp that can be fitted into the vehicle.

It is also worth noting that if a ramp is not long enough the stabiliser wheels at the back of most scooters and powerchairs will touch the ground, lifting the drive wheels of the ground, causing the scooter or powerchair to come to a halt.
These stabiliser wheels can also catch on the lip of the ramp if it is not wide enough.
