1930s Folding Chair

1930s folding chair

Previously belonged to the Red Cross

A folding chair manufactured by Allwin around early to mid-1930s as far as we can find out. Model appears to be an Allwin Ensign. At some point this chair was part of the Perthshire branch of the Red Cross. Acquired in a condition that needed some restoration.

Interesting features…

This chair will fold flat for transportation, has a partly reclining backrest, swing away armrests for side transfers etc., solid tyres and a one handed or foot operated brake, all things that are still desired on today’s chairs.

See how far we’ve come!
